Polar Express Day!!

Today was an awesome day! The students were so excited when then arrived today at school and BoNuS.....we got to see a very special guest. SANTA!!!!! The A.C. Williams choir also came to sing to our students. Overall, I have to say Polar Express day was a great day!

Winter Arts!

I was not able to put a note in their folder for tomorrow night but the students need to meet at the HIGH SCHOOL at 5:45! See you then.

I will also put a sheet in their folder tomorrow just for a reminder :) !

Christmas is right around the corner!!

Hello! Hope you are all trying to stay warm and hope everyone has electricity now! Just making you aware of some upcoming things happening around CES.

*December 12 - 2nd Grade will perform at the Winter Arts Festival at Commerce High School. The students will have in their backpack today what time to be there.

*December 17 - Polar Express Day. Students may wear pajamas that day!

*December 20 - Christmas Party/EARLY RELEASE. Our party in our classroom will start at 9:00 through 11:00. I am also ordering pizza that day for lunch! Students will also have early release that day at 12:00!

Christmas Parade

Hello all! Last night they made a decision to cancel the Commerce Christmas Parade for tonight (Thursday 5, 2013) due to Ice-ageddon coming our way. Also, make sure that you look on the news in the morning just in case we have any delays due to ice on the road. Have a great day and try and stay warm :) !

Brooklynn

Week of November 18

Hello! Hope everyone had a great warm weekend! I apologize for not posting lately but just want to remind you of a few things coming up this week.

-November 20: Thanksgiving Lunch. If you would like to come have Thanksgiving lunch with your child you are more than welcome to come. Our lunch is at 12:10 and the cost for adults is $3.00.

-November 21: Super Hero Concert! There are permission forms going around for you to sign. These forms are for the school to have when we go. We will leave at 10:45.

-November 22: Early Release at 12:00 for Thanksgiving Break

Red Ribbon Week

Commerce Fire Department

Today the Commerce Fire Deparment put on a little skit to teach students what they need to do in case of an emergency. They showed us a smoke detector and how it should sound.

They also told us about what to do in case a fire was in our house. We need to have a plan called E.D.I.T.H ( exit drills in the house)!

Also, they taught us to stop, drop, cover, and roll in case something on us caught on fire. Everybody got to get up and practice the motions and the kids had a blast. Even the firefighters showed us what to do!!!

Perry

Perry said that he loved Arthur and so his character is Arthur from Arthur's Halloween!

Pink Out Day!!

The students did a great job wearing pink on Friday to show their support!

All day they were SUPeR excited about going to the high school for the big pep rally! They did a great job holding it in all day until lunch.....they knew the pep rally was after lunch!!!

Team work!

This week we started working on place value. We took a look at the 100s chart and we broke it down to make a huge number line all the way to 120! The students worked in groups and had a blast putting it together! They did an AwEsOme job!!

Super "E"

Last week we learned about long vowel ( VCe) words and made a "Super E" puppet to help us remember the rule. It was a fun activity were the students could sing along with the Super E video and also help us with the VCe words we used last week.
