          -THIS WEDNESDAY is the LAST day to bring the $4.00 for the planetarium!
          -This Friday we are taking a small field trip to the Children's Museum

Hope everyone had a "Hoppy" Easter! The weather was great for the day! Hope it just stays that way now. A few things coming up:
          -PLEASE do not forget your child's $4.00 for the Planetarium. We need it by April 30.
          -Your child needs to bring an empty cereal box to school. We are going to be doing some activities
            using one closer to the end of the school year.

What's going on in the classroom

We have been learning a lot the past couple of weeks on plants, animals, and measuring things. In science, we have learned all about what plants need to grow, how they get their food and all the parts of a plant and their functions. We decided to get our hands dirty and plant some seeds on our own and watch them grow. The students had a blast making their plant people! In math we are looking at different ways we can measure things. Last week, Big Foot left his foot prints in our classroom and we had to become detectives and measure the lines he left for us. The kids got to estimate and measure things in the room with a "foot"!!

The kids had an awesome day today. We are learning about patterns in the classroom and the students are really getting into it! A couple of things going on. 1) If you are a parent and would like to go to the Dallas World Aquarium, you can get the discount price of $16.00. Just send CASH with your child and I will give it to our coordinator. Hope you can make it because it is a blast! 2) Projects are due MONDAY FEBRUARY 24! Some have already came in and they did a great job on them!! 3) Your child may have talked to you about Dojo or have signed up for it in our classroom. I am wanting to know your thoughts on it (good or bad). Please feel free to comment below and tell me all about it! 4) I am so glad that your child is in my classroom! They truly make my day special and I always learn something from them everyday! :)

100th Day of School!

Luckily the weather did not get in the way of our 100th day of school celebration. The students got to spend a little time with Zero the Hero and also got to show off their awesome 100 day projects!

Early Release!!

Water Cycle

The students have been learning about the water cycle this week. Today we did an experiment on precipitation. We observed how clouds (shaving cream) fill up with water and get heavy. When the clouds are heavy and full of water (food color), they will start to drop the water in the form of rain, sleet, snow, and hail. 

Wildlife Adventure!!

Wildlife Adventure came to our school last week and the students lOvEd it! They got to see a lizard, a baby wolf, a HUGE snake and other awesome animals. This was a great way to kick off our upcoming trip to the Dallas World Aquarium!

Hello! Sorry I have not posted lately but I am going to try and be in full swing this semester. Couple of things 1) Tomorrow is bowling so please make sure your child wears SOCKS and brings a sack lunch. 2) Next, Friday is the 100th day of school. If your child would like to make a project with 100 things on it, you can get a jump start on it this weekend!! This is not mandatory but the students seem to like it and everyone in the school gets to see them. Hope everyone has a great rest of the week and try to stay warm! :)
